Poor Sasha ... her Mac crashed and she lost quite a lot of her files... sigh... I'm sure most of us has experienced this before... nowadays we depend a lot on computers don't you agree? So for the fun of it, let's take a look at some computer jargons in pre-computer-age:

Mouse: wasn't this referring to that pesky rodent that cats love to chaseCrash: err... what happens when you drive your parents' car for the first time and then hit another car
Virus: some unseen organism that invades our body and make us sick
Mails: what the postman delivers
Window: a glass pane which you can open
Bin: a basket where you throw unwanted things
Menu: what you find in a restaurant which helps you make decision on what to order
Backup: people you call when you are outnumbered in a confrontation
Web: a spider's home and food trap
Laptop: oo-la-la
Bluetooth: Help!! A monster!!
This just happened.. was busy attending to my fussy baby, he just finished nen-nen and needed to be burped, when the phone rang... So with 1 hand carrying baby trying to coax him to quiet down, I picked up the call...
Me: Hello?
Caller: Halo?
Me: Yes?
Caller: Hun Seng Timber ah?
Me: err.. nope
Caller: ....
Me: I think you've got the...
Caller: CLICK!! (as in slamming the phone down)
How rude!! At least say lah sorry you temporarily misplaced your brain... sigh.. I should have said this is Bukit Aman.. muahahaha!
Saturday's dinner was very delicious (thanks to hubby's wonderful cooking skill - bodek sikit so that next time hubby cook more!) Hubby's family came by for dinner. Pity though.. forgot to take photo of those dishes! With baby's tantrum, in-laws around and a hungry stomach, it just slips my mind ... sigh.. and perhaps being a new blogger so not used to taking photo of everything! hehe Well... have to use my "creative writing" to describe..
We finally decided to have vegetarian on Saturday. There was our all-time favorite veg curry mutton (which was the first dish to be wallop-ed, I mean finished), then there were veg fish (deep-fried and then covered with Thai chili sauce cooked with galic) and veg fried prawn (just deep fried) and oyster mushroom cooked with yellow capsicum (yellow capsicum coz it has a fragrance and sweet taste and serves as a ganish.
And also brussel sprouts, which we loved but couldn't find in those "dai-chow" restaurants! You can't imagine how many restaurants we asked! Unfortunately, it was slightly bitter so dinner conversation was on how to cook brussel sprouts. Comments ranged from "you should have blanched it after boiling" to "maybe the veg has pesticide"! Hubby's way was to initially boil the brussel spouts before stir-fried with garlic and superior soup.
Anyone can advice?
Yippee! Tomorrow's Saturday, hubby's not working! So happy! (read: hubby can help take care of baby..) Anyway, hubby said long time didn't play masak masak so we plan to cook something for the family tomorrow...
Hmm, what to cook ya? We thought of tenzaru soba, coz looong time didn't cook that and we both loved it, not to mentioned less cutleries to wash... Then again, we also missed veg mutton curry! Or, should we make pizza... the cooking show on astro last night gave us some interesting ideas on toppings.. or maybe pasta? Or maybe hubby's specialty salted chicken?
Aiyoh! decisions decisions!! hehe...

Baby zen was 5.4kg last week when we took him for his 3rd month jab. He's still slightly small for his age but he's catching up :-) The bad news is my poor back has been aching with all the carrying him around...
I know I know... I should not be carrying him so much.. but.. but.. but when he cries, its not easy! I usually ignore (bad mummy! hehe..) him when he has the please-carry-me cry. Then when it reaches the nobody-loves-me-anymore cry, I'll try to entertain him, resisting the urge to pick him up. But when it comes to the I-demand-to-be-pick-up-at-once-or-else cry, I just had to carry him... before the neighbors call child abuse dept!
Sigh... I wonder if he'll sponsor me to go for Pilates classes later?!?
Got this tag from ChinNee. Should I have a chance to travel to my fantasy... where would that be.. hmm.. never really thought of that.. gimme a minute..
Not sure if this qualifies.. but my current wish is to be able to stay in Kyoto with hubby and baby for a year so that I could experience the changing of all the 4 seasons...
Now to see where some of my fellow bloggers would like to be in their fantasy.... hehe

Another experience of a lifetime! Was invited by Sasha to be interviewed on Wanita Hari Ini together with Sasha, Shannon & ChinNee and their kids (Jayden, Rachel & QiQi) yesterday noon.. haha, so fun! Oh, the topic was on mummy bloggers..
Initially we all took our babies (except Sasha was without Jayden... awww) on stage. But just when I was answering the hosts, baby zen decided that he wants to be heard too and started to cry for attention! Luckily ChinNee helped carried him for awhile (thanks ChinNee)... sigh.. I guess baby zen won't be going into showbiz lah... Only QiQi was able to last for the whole segment.. Way to go QiQi!
All in all, was a great experience. I always wondered what it was liked to be on the other side of the tv and I found out! The hosts (Azizah and Azzura, I think) were very pretty and professional. They were so smooth compared to us. And they invite us to take photo with them after the show.. wahhh... :-)
PS: Had tried to upload pic for the last few hours but seemed to have some problem uploading.. sigh..
Do you believe in the "goodness" of organic food? So much has been mentioned about organic food especially in the west. They eat organic veg, cook organic chickens and use organic cooking ingredients. Well, at least on some of the cook shows on Astro, they do :-) And this trend has spread here. How do I know?
My BIL has an organic farm, not a very huge one, but good enough for own consumption and to sell to supermarkets and organic shops. So can say we do have organic food most of the time, unless when we can't get from the farm or when we eat out. Now, for those who are thinking ..."wah so good, got free organic veg"... we do pay for the food ya.. no free lunches.. well, maybe got slight discount lah! I could see quite a wide range of people buying these veg from him, from the affluent to the middle-class to those with sickness...
What triggered me to write on this was that one of my friends claimed that there's no need to pay so much extra for organic food since we had been consuming "pesticide-food" all these while, our bodies had probably gotten used to those pesticides. He also questioned the genuineness of those veg. Maybe he has a point on genuineness, they are some who are out to make a fast buck.. But on immunity towards pesticides... hmm...
Lian was asking if I could share the baby massage techniques. Would loved to but not sure if the baby massage organisers would be happy about it... know what I mean.. :-) But I had googled for baby massage before and found that this website have quite good description http://www.makewayforbaby.com/massages.htm You could check it out ya or you could get the masseurs to come to your house. One of them told me that she charges RM270 for 3 days of baby massage...
What I had learnt that I felt was really important was that the massage should be done WITH baby and not TO baby... Its the touch and eye contact and soothing words that helps... If baby becomes bit restless, then just put your warm hand on tummy to sooth baby. One more thing, when you massage the tummy, make sure baby has eaten at least 45 minutes before ya... Oh and get those oil that have no fragrance lah (the one that we got is almond oil). Be sure to test some on baby and yourself for allergy before you massage.. Hope this helps.. Happy massaging.. :)

Hubby was outstation a couple of days ago and on his return trip, he bought some cookies from KLIA. But upon reaching home, the KLIA taxi driver left out the cookies bag when he was helping to take down the bags and we thought "Oh well, let him have it for his buka puasa lah" Anyway, it wasn't very expensive.
That night... at around 12:45am... I was woken up by the sound of our doorbell! Was very cautious after what happened to my MIL's house. Everyone was still asleep and the doorbell rang again. I peeped out from the bedroom window and saw part of a car but couldn't make out who, so I crept downstairs (wah! so brave ya?! I think I was still half asleep... hehe) Apparently, it was the same taxi driver who had discovered that cookies bag and came back to return it! He said he so happen had gotten another customer at our area at KLIA when he found the cookies bag.
So nice of him and I forgot to give him something back in appreciation (still half asleep mah). In this world of finders keepers, this guy renew my faith in human kindness... :-)
PS: I even forgot to ask his name... sigh
There were some actions at my MIL's house the night before! Apparently, the newspaper man came to collect payment at night. He had requested for the electric gate to remain closed as he was afraid of their dog. As the maid passed him the money, "two guys on a motorbike sprang from nowhere and were waving parangs" and demanded money and forcing the maid to open the gate! My MIL's maid quickly ran back to the house shouting "Perompak! Perompak!" Luckily, the gate was closed and those guys couldn't go in. The newspaper man was not so lucky. He was robbed of all his money and his motorbike too. Poor thing...
After hearing that story, I was really scared. Its one thing to read in the newspaper about all these robberies and burglaries but its another matter to have it nearly happening to you and your family... It wasn't like we are very well-off and have lots of nice cars outside. It just goes to show that anyone could be their target. So, please do be careful and stay alert.
Went to baby massage class with baby zen and hubby and SIL. Really interesting class, conducted by a master trainer for some baby massage trainers-to-be.. Was informed of it by a friend that they needed sample babies so gave it a try. The other thing is its free! hehe..
Its for 3 days from today till 11 Oct. I don't think I can go on Wed but will definitely try for Thurs.
We did leg massage today for around 1 and 1/2 hour. Wow, didn't know there were so many ways to massage just the legs. We went from thighs to feet to toes and up again. I noticed baby zen did quiet down after a couple of strokes. He was, by the way, the nosiest in class with all his crying... shy lah. He was probably wondering what mummy was doing to his legs! There were babies ranging from 6 weeks to 9 months (I think) and all were quite well behaved, one was even laughing throughout class!
We had to leave immediately after class as hubby needed to return to office... but we had a really fun session. Can't wait to try it on baby zen afterwards!
Wow! Time sure flew by... baby zen is now 3 months old. I still remember the day he was born.
Being my first baby, I was naturally both excited and anxious. Thank God that the delivery went alright and I now have my precious bundle of joy. Looking back there were moments of anxiety like when the nurse informed that they detected fetal distress where baby's heartbeat dropped (really low) with every contraction. I think MY heartbeat stopped for a moment when I heard that. I didn't know what to expect but luckily the nurses and my gynae were very professional and I suppose that means a lot as I am depending on them on delivering my baby...
This photo was taken when he was about 4 - 5 days old (I think) at home... and blame me all you want, I think he's soooo cute :-) I think all mummys (and daddys too) are like that too...
Took hubby to Jogoya at Starhil KL for his birthday lunch treat the other day. Nowadays, can't really go for nice long dinner often since baby is coming to 3 months old and tend to be fussy in the evenings so may be a handful (make it 2 handsful) for babysitter grandma.
When we arrive at 1:30pm (initial plan 12:30pm) after settling baby (punctuality flew out of our dictionary when baby arrived) and being caught in a KL jam, we were told to wait till 2pm for the late lunch group. Oh well, luckily we weren't that hungry (or else we would have gone to the Japanese restaurant on the other side) and I could save a bit too (late lunch is cheaper than lunch by RM10++ per pax.. hehe)
They have quite a variety of food, mostly Japanese. We enjoyed the XO king crab soup, cod fish teppanyaki style, tempura prawns (huge & crispy!!), deep fried soft shell crab, kelapa muda drink (in fact we had 5 between the two of us). Pity we discover the escargot late as the cheese (or was that melted butter) had hardened...
Spent a good 2 hours there. Was really fun. And when we got home, grandma was so glad to see us .. hehe
Well, this may seemed queer for a first posting / blog but in some ways, I think it is appropriate. My mum passed away almost a year ago after battling cancer and it seemed like only yesterday we were chatting. Now that I'm a new mum myself, I find myself wondering often how my mum had brought me up.
My relationship with my mum was like the deep sea.. calm with the occasional rough weather. When I was young, she was my idol. She wasn't like most other mums I know, she didn't like to spend time in the kitchen (she wasn't a great cook) but instead she enjoys having interesting conversation with me. Her children's education was important to her. I still remember the time when I was only in Std 1 and couldn't memorise the time tables and she got so angry that she forced me out of the car on our way to school and she drove off! Don't worry, this happened in our neighborhood and she came back couple of minutes later but to a 7 year old, I was really scared! After that day, I did try harder!
When I was in my early twenties, we kinda have very different opinions, so different to the extent that she won't talk to me at all at one point! But I'm glad to say that it work out later and towards her last few months, she was living with us and I could see she was happy (though the pain was getting to her and the medication left her in a daze). My only regret was that she never got to see her grandchild...
Mum, I miss you and will always think of you...
