You know.. when you have a common name (and I do have a common name... though during when my parents thought of my name, it wasn't common... or so they said.. hehe), you will definitely get calls like the following:
Caller: Hello sting!! (for the benefit of this post, I'll use this name)
Me: Hello!! (gotto match the enthusiasm, right?)
Caller: How are you?
Me: Good... but who's this ya?
Caller: You mean you can't remember me?!
Me (thinking): Well, I don't see your name displayed in my phone, so I guess you are not that important...
Me (aloud): Erm, no... I can't seem to recall your number..
Caller: You can't recognise my voice?! Can't you guess who I am?
Me (thinking): Well, let's see, my first guess would be that you are some joker who's got lots of time in hand...
Me (aloud): Am so sorry but I'm bad at recognising voices (which I am)
Caller: Aiyoh, now become big boss with own company so don't remember me already?!
Me: err... you sure you got the correct person? I do not own any company...
Caller: Eh, you are Sting right?
Me: ya..... but who are you?
Caller: You stay in Kota Kemuning right?
Me: Well, I've been there once in my lifetime but never stayed for more than a few hours...
Caller: Oh, am P.. do you know me?
Me: From which company?
Caller: I'm with ABC Insurance
Me: Ahhh... I only know T from ABC Insurance so I think you got the wrong person...
Caller: Oh... your agent is T ya?
Me: Yes.... hey, I gotto go now
Caller: Oh ok ok... sorry..

I can't say that I've had this happen to me before ...
I too have this mistaken indentity happening before,,but it is a mistaken face rather than a name..

We get calls from Malaysia or Singapore, from friends who no contact past 20 years ring up at 3AM and says 'guess who'?
Then says, 'alamak, you can't recognise me ahhhh'!!
