Fisher Price's Stride-to-Ride Lion
Hubby and I have always been the kids' horsey. You know the type where we go on all fours and they get on our backs and we neigh our way around the house... Yeah, it's in a parent's job description alright. Then we got this Fisher Price's Go Baby Go Stride-to-Ride Lion and it became our replacement, which was good coz the kids were getting a little too heavy for this old horsey! :-D
Before we got it, I have read about it and I find that it was a pretty good toy cum walking tool. It's suitable for babies and toddlers who are learning to take their first steps as it serves as a walker for them. There's only so much of furniture that babies can cruise with and when when they reach the end of the coffee table, they had to fall onto the floor or cruise back. But with the Stride to Ride Lion walker, they are more mobile and can be more adventurous. Imagine the fun they will have. A word of caution though, this is the time to child-proof the house!
And when they are able to walk, you can "transform" it into a ride-on, which by the way, both my kids love and as I am writing this, are currently fighting for it. I find that the wheel base are quite wide so you don't have to worry about whether it will provide a sturdy support for the kids.
Actually the first thing that grabbed the kids' attention was the cute lion's face. And kids being kids will start playing with it... and this is where the visual and audio stimulation comes in. Press the lion's nose and it will lit up like so in the picture and there will be upbeat sounds coming from the lion's mouth. Kinda catchy tunes if you ask me...
In fact, so catchy were the music that my girl was dancing and my boy was drumming to the beat! :-D Over and over and over again... Yeah, it's party time!
Oh, in case you are wondering, it's very durable. Here, you can see Kay trying to errr... I'm not sure what she was trying to do. The poor lion was hit and pushed and stomped on (yeah, I have active-to-the-point-of-being-violent kids, tell me about it!) even before I got it out of its box! But after we took it out and had it fixed up properly, it was still working. So thumbs up from me.
